Grandmaster Allen Wheeler was well known in the world of martial arts, especially Isshinryu Karate. He had over 40 years of experience in the art and extensively studied self-defense and the history of karate. Mr. Wheeler co-authored a series of books called “Dynamics of Isshinryu Karate” and personally authored three books: “Counter Attack”, “One Heart One Mind Method”, and his autobiography “In His Own Words”. He was also inducted into numerous halls of fame including: International Isshinryu Karate Association Hall of Fame, World Martial Arts Hall of Fame, and the International Karate and Kickboxing Hall of Fame. Mr. Wheeler, a 10th dan, successfully operated the Powell school for over 30 years. He was dedicated to helping others through teaching Isshinryu Karate. He was an icon in the Powell community, and served as an example and an inspiration to many people whose lives he touched.
